Early Feast

We had the elders over for some early Thanks Giving feasting. They decided to take the horses for a race...

Paint Wars

Nate's younger sister LOVES birthdays! She's been finding interesting activities to make her parties special. This year the big activity was a paint war. Since non of us liked the idea of being bruised and couldn't afford paint guns Katie put a special paint/dye into ketchup/mustard squirt bottles and we gathered in the back yard with our assigned colors... And then let loose.

It was awesome....

Shoe Shopping

Okay, so I'm not a major wearer of shoes. I don't usually obsess over a fabulous pair of shoes, because I really haven't ever found a shoe that pleased me so much as to fuss about it, or spend that kind of money... But I have decided the world (of my facebook friends) needs to know my dilemma.

So, there was this talk given in General Conference that a lot of people are very familiar with. The church leaders asked that Sunday dress be improved upon. They asked us to not look like we're about to go to the beach. Flip flops were mentioned in a less than Sunday Best sort of way.

Well. I made a habit to wear heels on Sunday because they are dressy, I like the way I look in them and I CAN walk in them, it's just that IF I am going to be walking a LOT, as I usually do with my son right now, high heels are NOT very comfortable.

So I decided to go to the store because all I've had in my closet are high heels... I was determined that I would find some Nice, CHEAP, Sunday flats that weren't flip flops. Well, I will mention that I didn't remember the NEED for these shoes until late Saturday nice so with liimited time I only checked out 2 stores. Payless Shoe Source and Wal-mart. Kenny is going to tell me I should have tried Target. And I'm sure others of you have other suggestings but keep reading, hopefully you understand.

They have these shoes that are shaped like boats. You all know what I mean, it has the bottom and the sides that cup your foot all the way around and come up over the toes. Admittedly I think they are cute but I can't wear them, not even with the special little socks they sell for wearing with those shoes. It's worse than wearing heals, because heels hurt but those little boats rub blisters on the back of my foot when walking a LOT! So I needed something with a strap around the back of the ankle so it wouldn't rub... That was unbelievable hard to find in something that looked Sunday appropriate. Lots of sandles, all a little TOO beachy.

So, after much hunting, and putting a lot of boats on to see if MAYBE there was one that worked... I bought two pairs of flip flops...

They are nice flip flops in my opinion, but mostly I decided, Heavenly Father didn't want me to be uncomfortable and mostly wanted to know that my heart with in the right place at church, that I wore my best and these shoes were the best I could find for my feet to do lots of walking around church.
