Silliness

The day of our sealing, after the reception party, we headed straight from Orem, Utah to Mountain Home, Idaho to spend time with my family who had so generously paid for our place tickets for the trip. We were eating dinner and I was looking at the top teir of our wedding cake. I was pondering what to do... We couldn't leave it in my sister's freezer for a year and there was no way I was going to haul it all the way to Florida... I turned to my family and said that I thought we should eat it... and my mother responded, "Of course we should, it's been a year!" and I laughed because I realized she was right, Nate and I had been married a year! So we celebrated again and took pictures to remember the moment.

For the Birds

I'm not really an avid bird watcher but when we moved into our house the previous owners had left behind some bird feeders so I decided to put them to good use. Originally I put them in the backyard on an iron shepherd's hook. That didn't work out so great for the birds because, we discovered, there were some squirrels that decided the food should be theirs. So we still enjoy watching the squirrels chase each other to and fro over the trees and fencing in the back yard. Outside our window in our front yard we enjoy watching this bird and it's mate come at meal times. I haven't been able to get a snap shot of it's mate but it is a sort of golden color of whatever breed this is.
